Cali vibes to Aussie hangs..

October meant we were nearing the end of hurricane season and it had been one of the worst in the last ten years, Hurricane Irma luckily didn’t hit us but we had the rough weather..

It was then time for my next whirlwind trip, this time including a visit home for the first time in a couple of years.

Island activities and Carnival..

Back in the sun on the Island, Dad had a few more days to chill out and enjoy the sun. We went for some dives and the delicious Friday special burger at The Lobster Pot..

A cold Easter in the snow..

Next up was Easter where I met my Dad in New York City for some more exploring.

It was cold, very cold. But the sun was out and skies were blue so I could not complain. As my Dad had arrived a couple days before me, he managed to check out most of the touristy sites already..

Getting Jammy in Jamaica..

The month of June also included my Dad’s first visit to the Cayman Islands. The day after getting back from New York actually.

Within the first few days he completed his open-water dive certification and then we were off to Kingston in Jamaica for the weekend for the Australia cricket test series. Little did I know that a massive group of Aussie boys from Cayman were also there in a big group and being the island that Cayman is, I knew quite a few of them..

My first few months back home in Australia..!

I surprised my immediate family just before Christmas in 2013. It was just Mum who was aware of my arrival home.  Even more surprises followed when I showed up at my friend’s birthday party the same day.  I then kept a low profile to surprise the rest of my family on Christmas Day.  Now that was a big reaction!!

Exploring England on my final days living in Europe..

Once back from Russia I had two of my Aunties come over to stay with me.  It was great having family over and I showed them around London as much as I could after work hours and took them to Paris for a weekend.  This was great fun as the sun was out to play while we wandered around the streets, going up the Eiffel Tower and we got to enjoy a beer at the Sacre Coeur overlooking the beautiful city of Paris.

My first family visit and another weekend trip to Europe..

After working my ass off every single day (over 70 hours per week) for the last couple of months, my Mum and Sister arrived. It was good to see them. My sister had her 18th birthday in London which we celebrated by having dinner at Jamie’s Italian restaurant and a quiet night as we were up early the next day to go to Copenhagen.

We got to Copenhagen where my Mum’s cousin (my second-cousin but still call him my ‘cousin’) picked us up and took us to his family home. They treated us with a yummy Danish lunch and then took us on a bike ride around the city of Copenhagen – it was beautiful!
