Final island days, for now..

Once I arrived back on the island I knew I had only three more months till my next adventure so no more trips in the meantime.  I just made the most of the beautiful island I call home.

New Year’s = new country.!

It was New Year’s eve and I was driving home with an off feeling – I really wanted to get off island.  Next thing I know, my mate from Bahamas messaged and told me to get over ASAP..  Next thing I know I was racing home, threw some clothes into a bag and raced to the airport.  At the counter I had three minutes to book before the counter closed.  I booked.

Road tripping through Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador..

Our first stop was Haultco and eventually we found a place to stay that could fit all six of us in the same room – now this was definitely different to what we had just spent the last couple of weeks in. There were two double beds and they bought in another mattress, which pretty much took up the entire floor space. We also had to lug all our belongings into the room as there was no way we were leaving anything in the car, especially with easy access through the back window (and half the doors not locking)..

My first few months back home in Australia..!

I surprised my immediate family just before Christmas in 2013. It was just Mum who was aware of my arrival home.  Even more surprises followed when I showed up at my friend’s birthday party the same day.  I then kept a low profile to surprise the rest of my family on Christmas Day.  Now that was a big reaction!!

My second Christmas away from home..

I was lucky enough to once again stay with some family in Copenhagen and to spend Christmas with them as well.

We were off to the West Coast of Denmark to spend it at my cousin’s family home in Värde.

The day we were due to leave there was a snow storm which caused a little delay but made everything look beautiful.  It was a nice drive and once we got there you could smell the amazing aromas saved for Christmas time.

Hogmanay and back to London with a weekend trip to Europe in the mix..

I returned to London just before New Year’s 2011 and headed straight up to Edinburgh to bring in the New Year with the Hogmanay Festival.

I was with a group of friends and we hired an apartment in Grassmarket Square which is pretty central and not far from Princes Street Gardens. We had a few cook ups and roasts and joined in the festivities of the Hogmanay Festival which included artists such as Mark Ronson, The Vaccines and Bombay Bicycle Club etc.
