As I had a couple of friends in Roatan, why not go for a weekend visit?!
There were direct flights from Grand Cayman to La Ceiba then it was a short propeller plane ride over to the island of Roatan.
I arrived and was met by my mates who took me back to their place in West End.
The following day was an early one as they took me diving with their dive they had started up in West Bay, Blue Planet Divers, wow these were some awesome dives!!
The water was so clear and so much fish life.. Both dive spots were only a short distance away from their dive shop in West Bay and the boat trip back was stunning as we came back to the picturesque beach.
After the dives I chilled out on the gorgeous beach before catching the little ferry boat back to West End where I walked around and checked the little town out. A few drinks at the boys’ favourite local bars and then picked some amazing yummy dinner – so much choice!!
Another day of dives and this time in between we went past the dolphin sanctuary by Bailey’s Key..
After the dives I went exploring and ventured up and down the beach making it to Gumbalimba Park where I had my own private tour and shown to the friendly green macaw and Capuchin Monkey – cool critters..!
Sunday night meant more yummy yummy food and a night in watching Game of Thrones – my type of evening!
Such a great weekend and I could not thank my amazing hosts enough – they have something pretty special in Roatan..!
