After my last whirlwind trip it was back into training mode for my first time attending USA touch nationals in Orlando. We had a ladies team (for the first time) and a couple of men’s teams that were traveling.
Myself and a few others flew into Miami a couple days earlier and drove up to Disney in Orlando where we were staying.
We spent the whole next day at Universal Studios which was so much fun!! Rides such as the Hulk (our fav!), Transformers, Popeye’s, Dr Seuss world and Harry Potter world!!
We indulged in the Harry Potter treats such as the extremely sweet butterbeer and fudge and may have dressed up in the Hogwarts’s robes.! Such a fun day for our inner child!
Our first day of the tournament, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, was tough but I had great fun watching all our other teams also and for me personally, it was interesting to actually watch high quality games of touch rugby (I never had before)..
Day two of the tournament consisted of more games and the finals which unfortunately our boys just missed out on. Everyone played so well though.
Back to the hotel for a few drinks with our teams and then a bunch of us made it out to the city of Orlando where we had quite a number of drinks on a rooftop bar – fun!!
Up early the next day to drive to Tampa airport for our flight back to the island. We were exhausted but such had an amazing time!!
Back on island the next couple of weeks included Halloween where myself Kia and Janelle put a little effort into our costumes – fun!! Followed by a delightful spa day at the Westinn..
Then it was time for my next solo weekend trip away…!
